Ekiti State University has expressed gratitude to the Leadership of
the Tertiary Education Trust Fund, Tetfund, for the various intervention
and support to improve the infrastructural growth of the Institution. The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Samuel Oye Bandele expressed His gratitude
while on a courtesy visit to the head office of Tetfund in Abuja where
he met the new Tetfund Executive Secretary, Dr. Bicchi Baffa.
Prof. Bandele commended the huge investment of Tetfund on
Infrastructure, research, training and general support of the
organization to tertiary institutions which had contributed to the
growth and improvement in those institutions
The EKSU Vice-Chancellor said that Ekiti State University has adhered
to the rules and regulations of TetFund guiding the awards of contracts
as well as judicious use of funds released to the University.
Prof. Bandele said; ‘almost 90% of buildings on Ekiti State
University were funded with Tetfund grants’. He said that the University
could now boast of Ultra-modern with multimillion naira edifices. These
conveniently have accommodated students and staff as lecture theatres,
exam centres, laboratories, Administrative blocks, as well as students’
hostel.
He congratulated Dr. Bichi Baffa as the new Tetfund boss and wished him a fruitful tenure in office.
The Tetfund Boss, Dr. Bichi Baffa said the organization would ensure
increase in funds/grants given to institutions in Nigeria in the year
2017 adding that Tetfund was also ready to encourage locally organized
trainings and conferences but would not support sub-standard overseas
trainings.
He promised that he would attend the commissioning of the new Academic Building of Ekiti State University.
